Wind-turbine maker Senvion instructs Marval on Argentina venture

Marval advised Senvion on the construction and related operation of the Vientos Los Hércules wind farm in Argentina.

Senvion is a manufacturer of onshore and offshore wind turbines. The company is based in Hamburg, Germany and has approximately 4,500 employees worldwide.

Vientos Los Hércules is a 97.2 MW farm which will be located in the province of Santa Cruz. The wind farm, property of EREN and Total, is one of the 12 projects awarded as part of the Argentine government’s renewable energy tender known as RenovAr. It is estimated that the project will start operating in the first trimester of 2019 and the investment will be approximately $150 million.

The agreement related to the electricity supply contract with CAMMESA (Electricity Wholesale Market Administrator Company) has already been held and the project finance will be managed by KfW IPEX-Bank, Euler Hermes, the German Development Finance Agency (DEG) and the Dutch development bank Financierings-Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden (FMO).

Partner Francisco Macías led the Marval team advising Senvion.
