Cuatrecasas adds two new partners in Chile and Colombia

Rodrigo Stein joins Chile’s office and Alberto Zuleta joins the Colombia office to strengthen the Corporate Tax and International Litigation and Arbitration practices, respectively

Cuatrecasas has announced the incorporation as new partners of lawyers Rodrigo Stein in the Santiago de Chile office, in the Corporate and International Tax practice, and Alberto Zuleta in the Bogotá office, in the International Litigation and Arbitration practice.

Regarding Rodrigo’s incorporation, Cristian Conejero, managing partner of the Santiago de Chile office, said: “Cuatrecasas has its origins and extensive experience in providing local and international tax advice to companies and family groups. The arrival of Rodrigo and his team to our Chilean office is a very important milestone, not only because it allows us to incorporate this important area of practice, which is particularly valuable in the current times and with the upcoming reforms, but also because we are doing so under the leadership of Rodrigo, who, as a widely recognized expert in Chile, has advised various local and international groups in a wide range of industries.”

Likewise, the managing partner of the Bogotá office, Manuel Quinche, commented on the incorporation of Zuleta: “We have set a goal for the arbitration and litigation practice that Cuatrecasas wants to develop in Colombia and Latin America. The incorporation of a lawyer with Alberto’s experience, recognition and talent to lead our Arbitration and Litigation team is a clear sign of the value proposition we want to deliver to our clients and the goal we have set ourselves.”

Rodrigo Stein (pictured right) has more than twenty years of experience advising clients, both local and international, on corporate and indirect tax, international taxation and transfer pricing. He is also recognised for his work in representing clients before tax authorities – both in administrative and judicial stages – and in the management of complex financing projects, investment structuring and cross-border mergers and reorganisations.

Alberto Zuleta (pictured left), a specialist in litigation, national and international arbitration, dispute resolution and antitrust, has more than two decades of professional experience in such matters, including proceedings before all levels of Colombian courts and before public administration and control entities. His extensive arbitration background also includes domestic and cross-border proceedings under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the Permanent Court of Arbitration and the different arbitration centres in Colombia.
