Akerman guides Braskem to space mission venture

Akerman assisted Brazil-based Braskem in its venture with official NASA supplier Made In Space to develop the first recycling technology to be used on space missions.

Braskem is headquartered in São Paulo and is considered the largest petrochemical company in Latin America as well as the largest thermoplastic resin producer in the Americas.

Made In Space, Inc. focuses on the engineering and manufacturing of three-dimensional printers for use in microgravity. The company is based in Mountain View, California and is now an official supplier to NASA.

Both companies have an ongoing partnership which already provided the first commercial 3D printing technology into space.

Partners Felipe Berer in Miami and Stacy Baim in Chicago led the Akerman team advising Braskem.
