García & Bodán advised Tiendas Universal on its first venture in Nicaragua.

Tiendas Universal is a family-owned retail chain and wholesale business which has operated in Costa Rica for over nine decades. This is the company’s first opening outside its home country,

The deal included the incorporation of the company in Nicaragua, the procurement of their permits to operate, customs issues and organization of their work structure. Also, García & Bodán provided legal advice on regulatory and trademark issues for the entry into operations of the first Tienda Universal in Nicaragua.

Partner Carlos Téllez led the team acting for Tiendas Universal. Téllez is the managing partner of the firm in Nicaragua.
