BKM assists Afry and Latinoconsult in contract with ANDE for the Acaray hydroelectric project

BKM Berkemeyer has assisted the AFRY y ASOCIADOS Consortium, formed by the Swiss company Afry Switzerland and the Argentinean company Latinoconsult, in the bidding process, negotiation and signing with the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) of a public contract for the development of the Acaray Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The contract was financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and involves the whole process of the elaboration of the Executive Project, General Coordination, Supervision and Inspection of the Interventions of the Rehabilitation and Modernisation Programme of the Acaray – Yguazú Complex, which will have a duration of five years and whose estimated investment amount is US $13,750,000.00.

Furthermore, the object of the contract consists of the elaboration of the project engineering, the bidding documents for the execution of the works, the procurement of goods, the coordination and supervision and inspection of the quality of the execution of the interventions, the approach of an integral management system for the operation and maintenance of the complex, the implementation of workshops for the training of ANDE personnel, in addition to the increase in the total nominal power of the plant, which will increase from 222 MW to 268 MW, i.e. the power will be increased by 20%, corresponding to 46 MW, and will directly benefit more than 400 people with the workforce.

In Paraguay, the Acaray hydroelectric power plant represents one of the most important resources because it is a renewable and clean source of energy.
