Cuatrecasas names Miguel Ángel Ortiz as partner in Mexico

Cuatrecasas has announced the promotion of Miguel Ángel Ortiz (pictured) to partner in the Litigation and International Arbitration practice in the firm’s Mexico City office.

Miguel Ángel has more than 15 years of experience in litigation, international arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution methods, particularly in amparo and administrative litigation, civil, commercial and bankruptcy litigation. He joined the firm in 2019, and previously held various positions in federal public institutions in Mexico, specialising in the energy, regulatory and construction sectors.

Cuatrecasas has also approved at its Extraordinary General Partners’ Meeting, held in Lisbon, the promotion and appointment as new partners of lawyers: Daniel Coloma Serna, in the Finance and Tax area; Idoya Fernández Elorza, head of the Knowledge and Innovation area; Roger Freixes Portes, in the Corporate area; Emilio Martínez Poyatos, Chief Operating Officer (COO); Lucía Montes Saralegui, in the International Arbitration area; Joana Mota Agostinho, in Intellectual Property, Technologies and Digital Media; Elisabeth de Nadal Clanchet, in Corporate and Human Rights; and Gonzalo Palacio de Ugarte, in Labour.
