Carey acts in Pan American Silver’s purchase of Yamana Gold
Carey has acted as advisor to Pan American Silver on the purchase of all the shares of Yamana Gold for USD $4.8 billion.
This transaction was closed on 31 March and involved the jurisdictions of Chile and Canada. Borden Ladner Gervais acted as advisor to Pan American Silver in Canada; while in the same jurisdiction Cassels Brock advised Yamana Gold.
The acquisition included, among others, the El Peñón and Minera Florida mining projects in Chile, and the provision of guarantees for the amendment of credit agreement with Canadian financial institutions.
