Carey instructed on Danone sale in Chile

Carey advised Danone in the sale of its Chilean subsidiary to Watt’s.

The deal, valued at $21 million, includes all the Chilean assets of the French food multinational, its production plant and the Calán brand. In addition, the parties agreed on a 15-year license for the use in Chile of the Activia, Danone Light and Danone trademarks and the know-how for the production of Activia products.

The buyer, Watt´s, is a publicly listed food manufacturer and distributor. It was founded in 1930 and is headquartered in Santiago de Chile.

Partners Francisco Ugarte and Lorena Pavic led the Carey team advising Danone.

Watt´s instructed a team at Prieto y Cía led by partners Benjamin Grebe and Juan Tagle.
