Carey represents Crédit Agricole in $532m financing to Codelco

Carey has locally represented Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in a long-term financing to Codelco of up to US$532m.

The amount will be used to finance, among other things, certain payments under a power purchase agreement. The financing was secured by a guarantee under French law provided by the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

The transaction, signed on 28 June, involved the jurisdictions of France, Chile and the US. Norton Rose acted as international counsel to Crédit Agricole, while Linklaters and Morales & Besa acted as international and local counsel to Codelco, respectively.
