Central American law firm Arias & Muñoz adds three new partners

Arias & Muñoz has announced the appointment of three new partners: Tania Solis in Panama, Edgard Torres in Nicaragua and Ximena Tercero in Guatemala.

Tania Solis joined Arias & Muñoz when the Panama office opened in 2011. Her practice focuses on tax, financial and regulatory matters, including banking,insurance and securities. Solis holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Notre Dame University, and is a Bachelor of Law and Political Science from Universidad Santa María La Antigua in Panama.

Edgard Torres is now the partner in charge of the litigation department in Nicaragua. Since joining Arias & Muñoz in 2007, his practice has centred in the prevention of contingencies and litigation resources under administrative procedures, intellectual property litigation, administrative resources and advice in labour and employment matters. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Universidad Americana in Nicaragua and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Ximena Tercero becomes the sixth partner in Guatemala and will lead the office’s tax department. Ximena has been with the firm for over seven years and regularly handles cases related to intellectual property, energy and information law matters, among others. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Universidad Rafael Landívar in Guatemala. Tercero holds a post-graduate degree in Commercial Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá, Colombia, a post-graduate degree in Corporate and Tax Law from Universidad del Istmo and has studies in Administrative engineering from Universidad Rafael Landívar in Guatemala.

Currently, Arias & Muñoz has 33 Partners and over 160 lawyers across its eight offices in Central America.
