Cescon Barrrieu advises EDF on financing Serra de Seridó wind farm
Cescon Barrieu advised EDF on the hiring of bank guarantees issued by BTG Pactual in favor of Brazilian development bank Banco do Nordeste do Brasil in connection with the financing for the construction of wind farms with an installed capacity of 242MW in the municipalities of Santa Luzia and Junco do Seridó, both in the State of Paraíba, Brazil.
In Brazil for 46 years and with presence in several countries around the world, EDF is one of the main world players in the energy sector.
The Serra do Seridó I Wind Complex, which will start commercial operation by June of 2023, will have 242 MW of installed capacity, the equivalent to the annual consume of 700 thousand Brazilian families, representing a new milestone in the company’s renewables energy industry expansion, that consolidates itself as one of the leaders in the sector in Brazil.
Finally, the funding involved a complex shared security structure between the Banco do Brasil, the main public bank of Latin America, and BTG Pactual, one of the main investment banks of the Brazil.
