Chediak strengthens areas with the arrival of new partners

Chediak Advogados has two new partners: Álvaro Palma de Jorge (pictured left) and Julio Barreto (pictured right), former partners of Palma Guedes Advogados.

With the aim of strengthening the areas of public and regulatory law, and M&A and corporate law, they are joined by associates Camilla Ribeiro, Gabriela Cavalheiro, Gabriel Esteves, Gustavo Guindani and Yuri Ferreira.

Álvaro holds a Legum Magister (LL.M) from Harvard Law School, a master’s degree in Regulation from FGV and a bachelor’s degree from UFRJ. He has extensive experience in judicial and administrative litigation and consultancy in the areas of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and other areas of Public Law, with an emphasis on the infrastructure sector. Arbitrator and Founding Professor at FGV Direito-Rio, he also worked as litigation manager for the National Supplementary Health Agency and was founder of Palma Guedes Advogados and partner at BMA Advogados.

Julio Barreto holds a master’s degree in Civil Law from UERJ, a postgraduate degree in Economics and Business Law from FGV and a bachelor’s degree from UERJ. Julio has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, strategic contracts, corporate disputes and advising on highly complex projects. He has worked on financing transactions with public and private financial institutions in Brazil and abroad. His practice segments include telecommunications, finance, supplementary health, pharmaceuticals and banking. He was also a partner at Palma Guedes Advogados.
