Cuatrecasas advises Erco Energía on $129M round

Erco Energía, a company focused on solar infrastructure development in Colombia, has closed a USD 129 million investment round. The funds are earmarked for the continued build-out of solar energy projects across the country. Cuatrecasas acted as legal advisor on the transaction.

The transaction reflects continued investor interest in Colombia’s renewable energy sector, where solar infrastructure has attracted increasing capital in recent years as the country pushes to diversify its energy matrix beyond hydroelectric generation. Investment rounds of this size signal growing confidence among financial backers in the scalability of solar projects in the local market.
