Mattos Filho hires Caio Gabra as partner

Mattos Filho has announced that Caio Gabra has joined the firm as a partner in its Infrastructure & Energy and Litigation & Arbitration practice areas. Gabra brings experience advising on infrastructure, energy, construction and dispute resolution matters in Brazil and abroad, and his arrival comes as the infrastructure sector faces growing complexity and rising demand for integrated advice on strategic projects and arbitration. With his arrival, Mattos Filho now counts 143 partners.

Gabra previously worked at Mattos Filho for six years before relocating to the Middle East in 2023. During that period he spent a significant part of his career advising on infrastructure projects in the Middle East, the United States and Europe, broadening his expertise in complex contractual structures, risk management and dispute resolution linked to strategic projects.

Gabra holds a law degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and an LL.M. in International Economic Law from Stanford Law School. Returning to Mattos Filho, he said, offers an opportunity to contribute to practices that have worked on significant projects and disputes in the market, adding that he looks forward to drawing on the experience gained across jurisdictions to support clients throughout the life cycle of their projects and to further strengthen the firm’s integrated approach.

Mattos Filho operates across more than 45 areas of law, with offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília in Brazil, an international office in New York, and regional desks covering different regions globally.
