Cuatrecasas represents TCE on $139m financing

Cuatrecasas has represented Transmisora Colombiana de Energía (TCE) in a USD 139.9 million financing granted by MUFG Bank, lead coordinating agent and administrative agent, and Siemens Financial Services.

The funds aim to be used to complete the construction of the 500 kV La Virginia – Nueva Esperanza transmission line and associated substation extensions. The project, with an approximate length of 235 kilometres, aims to connect the La Virginia substation in Pereira (Risaralda department) to the Nueva Esperanza substation in the municipality of Soacha (Cundinamarca department).

The project will meet the growing demand for electricity in the eastern part of the country, guaranteeing the energy supply required by distribution grid operators to provide a continuous and stable service. In addition, the project seeks to benefit the communities located in the project’s area of influence.
