DGA opens office in Bogotá

Dentons Global Advisors has announced the opening of its Bogotá office under the leadership of Johana Peters (pictured left) in Colombia, and Muni Jensen (pictured right), partner of the regional team from Washington DC.

Colombia will serve as the firm’s first Latin American hub, an announcement that “reflects our commitment to grow globally”, according to Edward Reilly, CEO of the global firm.

In addition, Johana stated: “Latin America is going through a period of transformation and Dentons Global Advisors has unique capabilities to support companies, governments […] Colombia is the ideal place to begin our regional expansion because of its resilient economy, diverse domestic market and geographic location.

In addition to these appointments, both lawyers will also join the global crisis/dispute management and public affairs teams at Dentons Global Advisors ASG and Dentons Global Advisors Government Relations in Washington, DC.

Johanna Peters has 30 years of experience in government, corporate and political consulting. She has served as campaign manager and strategy advisor to Colombian presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo during his 2018 and 2022 campaigns. She was also a public affairs and crisis management advisor to numerous Latin American and global companies; and has held positions in the Vice-Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Defence and the Embassy to the United States of Colombia.

Muni Jensen has been a senior advisor to DGA for eight years, and will continue her work advising clients on the management of issues between Latin America and the United States. Her practice focuses on the representation of Latin American corporate and sovereign interests before the U.S., with particular emphasis on trade, investment and international arbitration. Previously, she was a diplomat at the Colombian Embassy in Washington D.C. She is also a journalist with extensive experience in print, TV and podcasting, and is a frequent guest analyst for international media outlets.
