DMK Central Law welcomes back two former partners in the Dominican Republic

DMK Lawyers, the Dominican Republic member of Central Law, announced that former partners Llilda Solano and Alberto Cabrera have returned to the law firm. 

Solano has over 20 years of experience and practice in corporate and banking matters, M&A, contracts, franchising, telecommunications, energy, competition law and consumer protection, as well as alternative dispute resolution. She was the advisor on legal matters for the Telecommunication Reform Support Bill (Project Dom/97/004) with the assistance of the World Bank (WB) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Solano was head of the Dominican delegation during the privatization of the largest satellite network in the world (INTELSAT).

Cabrera focuses on corporate, real estate, aeronautical and transportation law. His career includes a role as legal director of Ron Brugal, an alcoholic beverages producer. He joined DMK in 2002 and left in 2006 when he was appointed legal adviser to the Dominican Presidential Administrative Ministry and Adviser of the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PROMIPYME). His responsibilities during those roles included modifications to many Dominican laws, consultations on tax and administrative litigation, contract negotiations between the Dominican state and individuals, public institutions and with other foreign states. Cabrera also served as legal adviser to the Dominican Civil Aeronautics Department. While occupying this position, the Civil Aviation Act No. 491-06 was passed which established the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC).

Both lawyers re-join DMK Central Law as of-counsel. Solano will be mainly based in Santo Domingo while Cabrera will be working primarily from the firm´s offices in Puerto Plata.
