ECIJA opens office in Uruguay

ECIJA strengthens its position in Latin America with the opening of a new office in Uruguay, located in the Rio de la Plata area in Montevideo. The new team adds two new partners and six professionals.

“Our eyes are on Latin America. With the arrival in Uruguay we are expanding our presence in the region, in a key territory for many of our clients. This consolidates us as the firm of reference in Latin America and increases our value proposition to our clients”, says Alejandro Touriño (pictured right), managing partner of ECIJA.

Juan Ignacio Fraschini (pictured left), partner of ECIJA Uruguay stated: “The fact that a law firm like ECIJA decides to open operations in Uruguay seems a natural step. It shares with the country the technological and development DNA of the audiovisual industry. At the same time, Uruguay is one of the countries with the greatest institutional stability in Latin America, in addition to a set of tax advantages for both companies and individuals. We wish to join the strategic effort of the country and collaborate with the objectives of positioning it as a technological and business hub for the region and the world”.

Cecilia Amieva (pictured centre), managing partner of ECIJA Uruguay, explains the vision of ECIJA’s operation on both sides of the Rio La Plata: “Both offices stand out for their entrepreneurial vision and client service, but they also share common values and principles such as commitment to diversity, sustainability, competence in our structures and a polycentric spirit. Our idea is to work closely together, imitating the fluidity in business and the dynamic movement of people that historically exists between the two countries.

With this move, ECIJA now has a total of 17 territories and 34 offices, with a global structure of 200 partners and more than 1000 professionals.
