Figueiredo & Velloso Advogados announces new partner
Figueiredo & Velloso Advogados has announced José Andrés Lopes da Costa as a new partner at the firm. He will work in the areas of corporate law, international tax, M&A, wealth planning.
The lawyer has worked for more than two decades as a partner in medium and large law firms. In his practice areas, he has represented banks, brokerage houses, investment management companies and other financial market entities.
As director of a large investment holding company, from 2001 to 2008, he acted in several cases related to the Central Bank of Brazil, the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), the Administrative Council for Tax Appeals (CARF) and regulatory bodies, coordinating various asset acquisition and disposal operations and corporate transactions.
José Andrés Lopes da Costa graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) in Rio de Janeiro in 1993. He holds a master’s degree in International and Comparative Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law (IBDT), and specializes in Business Law, Banking Law, International Tax Law, Corporate Law and Capital Markets.
