Gómez-Pinzón designates new managing partner

Gómez-Pinzón has announced the appointment of Mauricio Piñeros Perdomo (pictured) as the firm’s new managing partner.

Mauricio is part of the Tax & Customs Practice Group and has more than 35 years of professional experience. He advises on tax matters, as well as individuals and family groups on estate planning and taxation, including corporate tax matters, investigations, litigation, tax structuring related to mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, financial transactions and project finance, foreign investment in Colombia, as well as Colombian investments abroad.

He joined the firm as a partner in 2004, and prior to joining the firm he worked as a partner at Silva Piñeros & Gómez; as an associate at Cárdenas & Cárdenas, Álvaro Arango Mejía & Asociados, Brigard & Castro and at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce; he was a specialist in the Legal Division of Price Waterhouse Asesores Gerenciales and vice-president of the Legal Division at Grupo Diamante Samper (Cemex).

He is a professor of several tax law courses at the Universidad del Rosario, Universidad de los Andes and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He has been a judge of the Constitutional Court since 2018. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law and the International Fiscal Association – IFA, as well as a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
