Gross Brown on integration between CCU and Grupo Vierci
Gross Brown has advised the Chilean company Compañía Cervecerías Unidas (CCU), and its subsidiaries Bebidas del Paraguay (BDP) and Distribuidora del Paraguay (DDP) in the union of their commercial forces with the Paraguayan Grupo Vierci, through the integration of the operations of BDP and DDP with AV, of the Grupo Vierci.
After the transaction, the shareholding structure of these companies is distributed in 51% for the CCU Group and 49% for Grupo Vierci.
As a result of the transaction, BDP will operate two bottling plants, consolidating its position as one of the leading beverage producers and bottlers in Paraguay. In turn, DDP and AV reinforce their position as leaders in the distribution, marketing and commercialisation of beverages and food products in Paraguay. The beverage portfolio includes well-known brands such as Pulp, Pepsi, Paso de los Toros, Mirinda, Split, Watt’s, Puro Sol, Agua La Fuente, Aquafina, Gatorade, Red Bull, Rockstar, Heineken, Amstel, Sol, Sajonia, Kunstmann, Blue Moon, Paulaner, Schin, Pisco, Mistral, Misiones de Rengo and La Celia. In addition, they distribute PepsiCo foods and snacks, with key brands such as Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Fandangos and Quaker.
