Guerrero Olivos advises on Opdenergy refinancing

Guerrero Olivos advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and BNP Paribas, as lenders, on the refinancing of a 371 MW multi-technology portfolio of operating renewable energy assets owned by Opdenergy in Chile. The transaction, valued at $227 million, closed on June 16, 2026.

The firm’s advice covered all Chilean law aspects of the deal, including the structuring, negotiation and execution of the local financing and security documentation, as well as the analysis of the principal regulatory matters under Chilean electricity law applicable to the financed assets.

Other parties involved in the deal included CSC Delaware Trust Company, acting as administrative agent and foreign collateral agent, and Banco Santander-Chile, acting as local collateral agent. The Opdenergy entities involved were Opdenergy Generación, Ra Solar and Opdenergy PMGD. Jurisdictions covered by the transaction include New York, in the United States, and Chile.
