H&K represents KMA in FDN credit line
Holland & Knight, through its team in Bogotá, has represented KMA Construcciones in obtaining a line of credit from Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional de Colombia (FDN), Bancolombia and Itaú Colombia.
The contract was signed on 21 December 2023, under which Cartagena-based KMA plans to use the loan to finance its Troncales del Magdalena I and Troncales del Magdalena II projects, while repaying some bridge loans granted by Itaú Colombia and ASB Bank. The lenders issued the first loan disbursement in January 2024.
The Troncales del Magdalena I and Troncales del Magdalena II corridors will complete the works on Sector 2 of the Ruta del Sol highway, connecting Colombia’s interior with the Atlantic coast to form a major freight corridor. Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency estimates that these projects will generate more than 100,000 jobs.
