Holland & Knight and ARIFA advise Bladex on loans to two Panamanian banks

Holland & Knight in New York and Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega (ARIFA) in Panama advised Bladex on separate loans to Banco Aliado and Metrobank.

 

Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (Bladex), a multinational bank headquartered in Panama, was established by the central banks of Latin American and Caribbean countries to promote trade finance in the region.

On this deal, Bladex acted as sole lead arranger and bookrunner as well as administrative agent on a $59 million senior unsecured syndicated loan to Banco Aliado and a $40 million senior unsecured syndicated loan to Metrobank.

Partner Stephen Double led the Holland & Knight advising Bladex on New York law. ARIFA acted as local counsel in Panama for Bladex. 

Banco Aliado and Metrobank instructed Arnold & Porter as New York counsel. 

Panamanian law firm Fábrega, Molino y Mulino advised Metrobank.
