Jones Day to open office in Colombia
Jones Day is poised to open in Bogota later this year, according to sources.
The yet to be announced development comes amid renewed interest in Colombia from international law firms as the country moves through the peace process and becomes even more attractive to international investors.
Baker & McKenzie has had an office in Bogota for over five decades while other international players including DAC Beachcroft, DLA Piper, Garrigues, Holland & Knight, Littler Mendelson, Norton Rose Fulbright and Uria Menendez have followed suit in more recent times.
The office – which would be Jones Day’s third in Latin America and 43rd worldwide – would cater for clients seeking to capitalise on opportunities in Colombia and the wider Pacific Alliance region.
Jones Day has 120 lawyers in its Latin America-focused practice group.
