Martínez and ACR assist Wivet in the acquisition of Movet
Martínez Quintero Mendoza González Laguado & De La Rosa and ACR Legal have assisted Inversiones Wivet in Colombia and Chile, respectively, in the acquisition of Movet, a company with 5 veterinary clinics in Bogotá Colombia.
This transaction, signed on 2 October, was valued at USD $5 million and involved the jurisdictions of Chile, Colombia and the Cayman Islands. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and RAD/DF acted as advisors to Movet.
With this acquisition, Wivet expands its services in Colombia and continues its growth plan.
The advice involved negotiating the terms of Wivet’s investment and drafting the necessary documents to materialise the investment subject to New York law, including a shareholders’ agreement and other documents typical of this type of venture capital investment.
Wivet, a subsidiary of the veterinary holding company Stars Investment, the family office of the Ibanez Atkinson family, is a veterinary services provider in Chile.
Martínez’s team was led by partners Juan Manuel de la Rosa (pictured left) and Darío Laguado (pictured centre), with the support of directors Juan Carlos Gambín and Laura Ricardo, and lawyers Juliana Posada and Clara Hernández.
ACR’s team consisted of partner Sebastián Barros (pictured right) and associate Pedro Allende.
