Mattos Filho and Machado Meyer act in issuance of BRK Ambiental

Mattos Filho advised BRK Ambiental – Região Metropolitana de Maceió and Machado Meyer advised the coordinators on the 2nd Issue of simple debentures, non convertible into shares, in single series, of not convertible into shares, unsecured, to be convertible into secured with in rem guarantee, with additional corporate guarantee, for public distribution, in accordance with CVM Instruction 400, by BRK RMM, in the total amount of BRL 1,95 billion.

The offer represented the 1st issuance of “blue debentures” (blue bonds) on the Brazilian capital market – which represents a new type of debt securities focused on preserving of oceans and rivers and in financing projects that promote the “blue economy”.

The offer was demanded by investors representing more than R$ 3 billion, with BNDES acting as one of the most relevant investors. The offer was the biggest transaction involving a private company from the sanitation’ sector in Brazil considering its R$1,95 bi and 20 years-transaction.
