Norton Rose Fulbright adds Andrés Nieto as international partner

Andrés Nieto has joined the global firm as an international partner in the Mexico City office to strengthen its corporate practice

 Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the addition of corporate lawyer Andrés Nieto (pictured) as an international partner in the Mexico City office.

Hernán González, partner -in-charge of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Mexico City office, said: “His addition expands our Mexico City offering in Capital Markets, Arbitration and FinTech and strengthens its strong M&A practice.

Andrés holds a law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho, an LL.M. in Banking, Corporate, Finance, Securities Law, Mediation and Arbitration from Columbia Law School. He obtained a postgraduate degree in Private Equity and Venture Capital from Universidad Anáhuac and has postgraduate studies in Corporate Finance and Financial Law from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

He has more than 20 years of experience in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law, FinTech, Capital Markets, Corporate Law, including Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity, and Arbitration, as well as Commercial Arbitration.

Prior to joining, he worked as a foreign associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, as an associate and later partner at Von Wobeser y Sierra, and as a partner at Creel Abogados. From 2015 to 2019, he was chair of the Financial Law and Capital Markets Commission of the Mexican Bar Association, and is currently chair of the Legal Committee of the Banking Commission of the ICC Mexico, and vice-chair of the Mexico Committee of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association.

He is currently an adjunct professor of Capital Markets and Commercial Finance Law at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
