Simpson Thacher and Cleary Gottlieb instructed on debt offering by Mexico´s national electricity company

Simpson Thacher advised the initial purchasers in the $1 billion offering of of 4.75% Notes due 2027 by Comisión Federal de Electricidad (Federal Electricity Commission) of Mexico. The issuer instructed Cleary Gottlieb.

CFE (Comisión Federal de Electricidad) is Mexico’s national electricity company and is 100% owned by the government.

BBVA Securities, Citigroup Global Markets and Merrill Lynch were as initial purchasers of the offering.

The banks instructed a Simpson Thacher team led by partner Juan Francisco Méndez.

Cleary Gottlieb advised long term client CFE.
