Souto Correa steers healthcare acquisitions

Souto Correa has advised the private Brazilian medical group Oncoclínicas on the acquisition of two healthcare assets.

Oncoclínicas acquired Cardiomobile, a company focused on providing medical services in nuclear medicine, hemodynamics, telemedicine, and diagnostic imaging, with its headquarter located in the city of Uberlândia, State of Minas Gerais.

The acquisition of Cardiomobile is in line with Oncoclínicas’ strategic planning for expansion and consolidation in the nuclear medicine market, being the third acquisition of companies belonging to the UMC Medicina Nuclear group.

UMC Medicina Nuclear was incorporated in 2013 and is one of the largest, most complete, and advanced health centers in Brazil, with innovative infrastructure and developing modern and constantly evolving processes to serve patients, doctors, staff, and the community.

In the second transaction, Souto Correa’s team helped Oncoclínica in the acquisition of UOCP (Unidade de Oncologia Clínica e Pediátrica), specialized in pediatric oncology. UOCP is headquartered in São Paulo and has a clinical staff made up of pediatricians and clinical oncologists.

Launched in 2010, Oncoclínicas specializes in cancer treatments and operates in 35 cities across Brazil.
The transactions closed in early February, with no value disclosed.

Cardiomobile was advised by Romano Donadel and relied on partners Rubya Floriani and Flávia Almeida Forti da Fonseca.

UOCP (Unidade de Oncologia Clínica e Pediátrica) was represented by Madrona and relied on partner José Senedesi Neto and lawyer Henrique Maluta and junior lawyer Bruna Ianela Corrêa.
