Tauil & Chequer Advogados boosts capabilities in Rio de Janeiro

Tauil & Chequer Advogados announced today the arrival of Paulo Almeida Lopes and Claudia Pitta Pinheiro. Both lawyers were the founding partners of Almeida Lopes Pitta Pinheiro Advogados.

Lopes has an extensive career which includes senior executive positions at Raízen Group, Vale, Shell and Billiton Group, in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, London, The Hague and Houston. He also has considerable experience in corporate and oil and gas matters and in structuring local and international mergers, disposals and acquisitions projects. Paulo becomes partner at the firm.

Pinheiro has practiced in London at Shell’s global antitrust team and served as its representative for Latin America. Claudia has also worked as a corporate legal director and board member for Shell and Raízen in Brazil. Her expertise includes diverse areas of business law, most notably corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, national and international contracts, antitrust law, regulatory law, arbitration and compliance. Claudia joins the firm as senior counsel.
