TCA appoints two new partners

Tanoira Cassagne Abogados has announced the appointment of Lucía Rivas O’Connor and Luis María Merello as new partners in the New Business, Innovation & Digital Transformation practice, led by Manuel Tanoira.

These new appointments will enhance the growing practice, strengthening the firm’s Venture Capital practice in the region. The VC practice advises Start Ups, VC Funds and Corporate VCs on the launch and growth of new companies that seek to solve the world’s problems and create the jobs of the future through innovation.

Manuel Tanoira, leader of the area, considers the appointment of Lucía and Luis as strategic due to the constant growth in the number of clients and transactions carried out by the area, and the commitment to continue providing excellent services that allow it to maintain its leadership position in the venture capital industry in Latin America.

The Executive Committee, comprised of Santiago Monti, Alexia Rosenthal and Bernardo Cassagne, emphasises the importance of continuing to appoint female partners to the firm, thus having a more inclusive and representative representation at the decision-making table.

Lucía (pictured left) joined TCA in 2016. She is a lawyer graduated with honours from the Austral University School of Law, with more than 10 years of experience in venture capital and startups, assisting entrepreneurs, startups and investors in cross-border transactions mainly related to companies based in Latin America. Prior to joining the firm she worked as an associate at Negri & Teijeiro Abogados, M&M Bomchil Abogados and as legal counsel at RecargaPay.

Luis (pictured right) is a lawyer graduated from the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires with postgraduate studies at the Torcuato Di Tella University. He has more than 10 years of experience advising technology companies, having joined TCA 7 years ago to advise entrepreneurs, startups and investors in financing rounds and in the launch of new companies in Latin America. Previously, he served as a lawyer at the law firms Taiah & Asociados, Richards Cardinal Tützer Zabala & Zaefferer and at the online sales platform Mercado Libre, as well as an oral court in the Judiciary.
