Domingo Piscitelli, Andrea Cruz, Annette Vargas and José Antonio de Sousa

TPA appoints four new partners

Venezuelan law firm Torres Plaz y Araujo has announced the appointment of Domingo Piscitelli Nevola and Andrea Cruz Suárez as new partners, and Annette Adriana Annia Vargas and José Antonio De Sousa Cumbrado as new departmental partners.

Domingo Piscitelli Nevola (pictured left) joined the firm in 2012 and is part of the Administrative-Economic department. He focuses his practice on regulatory matters, administrative law, constitutional law, antitrust, concessions and tenders, public procurement, foreign investment, asset protection and corporate law. He previously worked as a lawyer at Grau García Hernández & Mónaco, and Badell & Grau. He holds a law degree from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the same university.

Andrea Cruz Suárez (pictured centre, left) is a member of the Litigation Department at Torres Plaz & Araujo. She joined the firm in 2010 and since then her practice has focused on litigation, especially in matters related to civil, commercial and aviation law. She is a Magna Cum Laude lawyer from the Universidad Central de Venezuela.

Annette Annia Vargas (pictured centre, right) is part of the litigation and tax department and has been with TBA since 2013. She specializes in advising on customs activities, as well as in tasks such as case management, review and monitoring of the same both in administrative and jurisdictional venue, in tax and administrative matters, as well as the drafting of briefs and communications to be submitted to the offices of the Public Administration, as well as before the judicial bodies of the Republic. Lawyer graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, with honours Magna Cum Laude, she is currently pursuing a specialisation in Financial Law at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.

José Antonio de Sousa (pictured right) joined the firm in 2018 in the Corporate-Tax Law / Oil & Gas department. His professional practice has focused mainly on national and international tax and corporate matters. He graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela with honours Magna Cum Laude, obtained a Diploma in International Tax Law from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, and completed a specialisation in Financial Law at the same university.
