Two firms act on investment by Itaú Unibanco in Equatorial Energia

Stocche Forbes advised Equatorial Energia on a R$ 2.1 billion equity primary investment by Itaú Unibanco, wich was advised by Lobo de Rizzo. The transaction was accomplished through the subscription of class B preferred shares issued by Equatorial Energia Distribuição, which is a holding company controlled by Equatorial Energia.

As a previous step to the transaction, the totality of the shares held by Equatorial Energia in Equatorial Piauí Distribuidora de Energia,  representing 94,94% of its total share capital, was contributed to Equatorial Distribuição.

After the completion of the deal, Itaú became the holder of preferred shares (divided into class A and class B preferred shares) representing 20,83% of the share capital of Equatorial Distribuição.
