US firm Duane Morris boosts LatAm practice with Bracewell & Giuliani hire

Duane Morris´ Washington DC office has recruited Bracewell & Giuliani partner Amauri G. Costa.

Costa is a licensed attorney in Brazil and also a member of the District of Columbia Bar. He advises clients in the energy, telecommunications, IT and financial sectors on cross-border M&A, corporate law and project development, as well as having expertise in the interpretation of legal and regulatory environments in Latin America.

Costa has been a lawyer at Bracewell & Giuliani since 1998. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years at Pinheiro Neto, one of Brazil’s largest law firms.

Though Duane Morris has a Latin American practice group, the firm does not have any offices in the region. The firm has a formal alliance with Miranda & Estavillo, a law firm in Mexico.
