Cuatrecasas assists in sale of Portillo shares
Cuatrecasas, through its team in Santiago de Chile, has assisted Inversiones Entrepuertos, Mauricio Smith y Cia. and Inversiones Las Rosas in the sale of their shares in Portillo to the Americar group.
The transaction included the coordinated sale of approximately 30% of Portillo to the Americar conglomerate, which became the sole shareholder of the company.
Tomás Kubick, lead partner of the transaction, stated: “In addition to the elements typical of an M&A transaction, this transaction was particularly complex due to the large number of labour, tax and administrative issues involved, which ultimately allowed the interests of all shareholders and their counterparty to be reconciled in order to achieve a successful closing of the transaction.”
Cuatrecasas’ team was composed of partner Tomás Kubick (pictured left), and associates Tomás Montes (pictured right), Antonia Montt Strabucchi and Álvaro Caviedes Villarino.
